My name is Eduardo Garcia I am currently A Senior At UNIVERSITY OF OREGON STUDYING General Social Sciences with a Minor in MARKETING. I AM FROM San Francisco, California AND HAVE BEEN SHOOTING SINCE MY SOPHOMORE year OF high school on & off as a hobby. this site has served as of a way of showcasing my work and keeping track of all my progress more than anything else. I am open to entering and working in the world of collegiate and professional sports in a creative role after graduating in the spring of 2025 from the university of Oregon.
As a creative intern in the athletic departments at both the uNIVERSITY OF oREGON AND uNIVERSITY OF San Francisco during my time in college thus far, I have developed a deep desire and interest of telling stories through a variety of digital mediums working with many athletes and people alike. I have learned softwares such those in the adobe CREATIVE sUITE, Davinci Resolve, and Photo Mechanic to name a few to better prepare me for future roles.
cAPTURING, CREATING, AND TELLING STORIES HAS OPENED MANY DOORS BEYOND MY COLLEGE. I Look forward to continuing this journey and seeing where this hobby leads to. Meeting, working, and collaborating with many of the other creatives I have been lucky enough to work with makes this journey even better pushing me to create more content and learn new skills. Shooting my first oREGON football game at Autzen sTADUIM MADE ME REALIZE HOW FAR I HAVE COME AND THE LENGTHS TO WHICH I CAN ACHIEVE pursing this hobby. Thank you for your time. Go Ducks!

Experiences
dURING THE 2023-24 cOLLEGE bASKETBALL sEASON WHILE FREELANCING FOR THE uNIVERSITY OF sAN FRANCISCO I WAS PRESENTED THE OPPORTUNITY TO CREATE AN EXTENDED CINEMATIC RECAP OF A STORIED and tense RIVALRY MATCH UP BETWEEN tHE usf dONS AND Santa Clara bRONCOS. Separated merely 50 miles apart, the rivalry dates back to the early 1900's around the inception of intercollegiate athletics. Telling the story of this rivalry while showcasing the importance and implications of this game in a 7 minute video was one of my better video projects thus far and one I am very happy of how it turned out. Working in a team with fellow student interns allowed me to put together this piece by storyboarding around a week beforehand throwing around ideas with my boss and friends/interns helping film, managing the spots they were shooting from, effectively communicating the roles and responsibilities of what needed to be captured, the process of transferring film the day of the game, and finally the most important part of the whole project being editing and turning over the video recap in a timely manner were all key skills crucial to the entire process of creating this piece. The skills mentioned used to create this piece strengthened my confidence in taking on and leading future extended features such as this back here at the University of Oregon in my work for the athletic department as well as in some of my freelance projects.
During my two years at the University of Oregon I have been privileged enough to intern for Oregon football within their creative media department. One of the big components of this role year round is recruiting and making sure the athletes coming on visits look good in pictures we take as this is one of the biggest things many coming on visits are the most excited about. But my favorite part of this role is working on the video team during game days and getting to be a part of the crew of videographers that capture footage for the video series Ducks vs them on YouTube. IN order to seamlessly churn out these long video recaps we must collectively work as a team a week before the game even starts to sit down and plan for game day. We storyboard and communicate the responsibilities of each videographer and intern capturing visuals during practices leading up to the match itself. Responsibilities of this role include labeling and logging footage, time management skills in order to meet quick turnaround deadlines, sending media to new outlets, and recording on game days. More specific skills to the role come in the form of storyboarding, cutting and editing footage, editing photos, and the occasional vfx projects. The two videos linked below are arguably some of my favorite episodes which I have had a part in contributing this season.
tHE SUMMER BEFORE TRANSFERRING TO THE UNIVERSITY OF OREGON I was lucky enough to study abroad in Mexico City during a session that took place around July-august as a part of an 8 week program. As a result of this experience I was able to shadow an employee part of a marketing team within his respected company. a variety of companies including but not limited to those in; auto manufacturing, global banking, and foreign tech companies were some of the options available to us, although We were randomly assigned to work alongside one of five different companies present in a 5 week capstone type project. this was were I was able to get a grasp of the type of daily life and work culture present in a foreign country where normally it is a place I always come to visit family and vacation in. Putting myself in the shoes of a Mexican citizen living every day in this enormous city served as a breath of fresh air, not only experiencing more aspects of culture but learning how those here work; which was a great experience.
During my time in these professional settings I was able to expand my vocabulary in Spanish even as a native speaker which was a positive, lead in teams and collaborative settings, built better and more professional communication skills in a Spanish, and was able to create a stronger work ethic. Skills I took away from this "internship" was enhancing presence through social media marketing, analytics, a bit of search engine optimization, and advertising skills, all of which I now use to push forward my creative media hobby in not only promoting myself but my work as well in order to get freelance work and try to "blow up" or find success on social media which in reality is a slow game. a thing my mentor of this program told me which has stuck by me until this day was, "you never know who is watching so it's better to keep creating and producing your best even when you are feeling down and out thinking no one is paying attention because you'd be surprised at how random life can be and who may be watching. one message or interaction can change everything," which I later found to come true that same summer. Crazy how life works sometimes.
